DIY Facemask Recipes / Recetas de Mascarillas

As a Mami, making time to get out to the spa to pamper your skin is challenging, so we often put it off to the side. Your skin deserves a little TLC, so if you can’t make it out to the spa, then open up your refrigerator and make yourself a face mask. Here are a few face mask recipes you can make at home:

For dry skin

Ingredients:

1/2 avocado

1/4 cup of honey

Instructions:

Mash the avocado and mix with honey. Apply it to your face and leave for some 15 minutes. Rinse off.

For oily skin

Ingredients:

1/4 cup mashed strawberries

2 tablespoons lemon juice

1 tablespoon yogurt

1 tablespoon honey

Instructions:

Mash all of the ingredients together, but do not puree in a blender, you want this to be spreadable, not a liquid. Apply evenly all over your face and let sit 8-10 minutes. Wipe off with a warm, damp facecloth and then rinse with cool water. Pat dry.

For acne prone skin

Ingredients:

3 teaspoons raw honey

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions:

Mix honey and cinnamon together, and apply to your face. Leave the mask on for 10-30 minutes. The antibacterial properties of both honey and cinnamon are especially beneficial for acne-prone skin.

For Anti-Aging

Ingredients:

1 Banana Mashed

4 Tbs of honey

2 Tbs of Water

Instructions:

Blend ingredients together, apply to face. Leave on face for 20-25 min. Wash off and apply moisturizer as needed.

So, there you go mami no more excuses for not taking care of that beautiful face of yours!
