Costco Málaga Gas Station is Officially Open!

Of course I was there on opening day!

Costco Gas Málaga officially opened on October 30, 2026, at Málaga Nostrum, bringing Costco’s members-only fuel station to the Costa del Sol.

Well, Málaga, it’s finally happening! Costco has officially arrived and while we’ll have to wait a little longer for the actual warehouse to open, Costco Gas Málaga opened today, October 30, 2026!

And you know I had to be there!

As a Mexican-American living in Spain, there are certain things from back home that just make me happy. And Costco is one of them.

If you’ve ever lived in the United States, you probably understand the excitement. Costco isn’t just another supermarket. It’s those giant shopping carts, buying everything in bulk, discovering things you didn’t know you needed and of course, the famous Costco food court.

So when I heard Costco was coming to Málaga, i was excited. And today, I actually got to fill up my car at the brand-new Costco gas station!

My First visit to Costco Gas Málaga

The new Costco gas station is located at Málaga Nostrum, where the company is also building its future warehouse.

I stopped by on opening day to check it out for myself and yes, I filled up my car! I also go to speak with Carlos Amaro, Marketing Director of Costco Spain, who shared some interesting details about Costco’s plans for Málaga. According to Carlos, the new Costco warehouse is scheduled to open in April 2027 (approximately). That means we still have a few months to go before we can enjoy the full Costco shopping experience, but at least we can already start taking advantage of the gas station.

Costco Málaga wants 25,000 Members

One of the most interesting things Carlos shared was Costco’s membership goal. At the time of our conversation, he told me they already had approximately 2,000 members, with a goal of reaching 25,000 members ahead of the warehouse opening.

And honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if interest continues growing (you’re welcome).

Costco has a very different business model from most supermarkets in Spain. Instead of being open to everyone, it operates as a membership-based warehouse club.

Members pay an annual fee for access to Costco’s warehouses and other eligible services, including its gas stations.

How much does a Costco membership cost in Málaga

Here are the membership prices:

Gold Star Personal Membership: €36.30 per year
Business Membership: €30.25 per year

Both memberships include an additional card, subject to Costco’s membership conditions. And there’s a little bonus for people signing up before the warehouse opens, eligible new members can receive a €10 Costco shopping voucher to use in the participating Costco warehouses in Spain. The voucher is valid according to the promotional conditions, including a redemption deadline of 30 days after the Málaga warehouse opens.

Another interesting benefit is that early members are being offered an extended membership renewal period through spring 2028.

Where is Costco Gas Málaga

The gas station is located at Parque Comercial Málaga Nostrum, in Málaga, near the future Costco warehouse.

Opening hours: Monday through Sunday, 7AM to 10:30PM

Important: You must have an active Costco membership to purchase fuel.

The station opened with nine fuel dispensers and the project allows for future expansion. If you’re already a Costco member, you can start using the new gas station without waiting for the warehouse to open.

Where can you sign up for Costco Membership?

Costco Málaga warehouse opening in April 2027: The new Costco Wholesale location at Málaga Nostrum is scheduled to become the company’s sixth warehouse in Spain.

Costco has opened a temporary membership registration office at Málaga Factory, within the Málaga Nostrum commercial area.

The announced opening hours are Monday through Saturday, 10AM to 10PM.

You can also explore registration options through Costco’s official website HERE. And here’s somlething worth knowing: you don’t have to wait until April 2027 to use your membership. Once activated, you can already access Costco warehouses in other locations including Sevilla.

What can we expect from Costco Málaga in 2027?

Kirkland Signature products at Costco: Costco’s popular private-label brand includes groceries, household essentials, clothing, and more, with availability varying by location.

The upcoming warehouse is expected to be a major addition to Málaga’s shopping scene. According to previously announced plans, the development will include approximately 640 parking spaces, a large warehouse sopping area, a tire service center and a variety of food and household product departments.

The project is also expected to create around 200 direct jobs.

For families like mine, i’m especially curious to see the food selection, international products, household essentials and whether we ‘ll find some of those American favorites we miss. And yes, I’m already thinking about the Costco food court!

My thoughts as an American Living in Málaga

What products will Costco Málaga carry? With its warehouse scheduled to open in 2027, shoppers are curious about American favorites, Kirkland Signature products, and international groceries.

One of the interesting things about living abroad is seeing how your relationship with familiar places and brands changes. Back in Los Angeles, Costco was simply part of everyday life. Here in Málaga, seeing a Costco gas station open, feels like a little piece of home arriving in my adopted city. Of course, I also love discovering Spanish businesses, markets and local products. That’s part of the beauty of living between cultures. But there’s something fun about watching an American brand become part of life here in Andalucia. Today I got to fill up my car at Costco Málaga and next year, hopefully, I’ll be walking through those giant warehouse doors.
