This past month, we were fortunate enough to visit a magical town in Mexico called, Sayulita.

We went there to celebrate my husband’s birthday. It was a beach surfer town and thanks to Airbnb, we stayed in a beautiful home near the beach! The home was rustic and it felt like a boutique hotel. Private patio with a pool, plenty of space for the whole family, large living room, dinning room, kitchen and 4 bedrooms with a master suite (we got the suite). It was a family retreat party of nine.

We drove to Nayarit, Sayulita from Zacatecas and though it was a bumpy and windy road, the scenery was impressive. We were in the middle of the jungle and couldn’t believe in awe that we were there! Sayulita truly is a magical town. Although I was surprised to find that EVERYONE there spoke English. I mean walking on the street all you hear is English-speaking people that were once tourists and decided to move to Sayulita because it is that magical. The beach is peaceful and and beautiful.

The gastronomy there is amazing, full of highly rated Yelp reviewed restaurants. Live music from around the world on every corner. A vibrant nightlife in the town’s center and donkey rides my daughter loved! We ate and ate and had such a peaceful time in Sayulita, I wouldn’t mind retiring there, now.

One of the nights we celebrated my husband’s birthday, though the whole trip I call it his birthday trip to the beach. We were there a few nights so we found our favorite Italian spot with live entertainment. They sang a special song to him and my brother brought him a personalized tart from the local French Bakery (authentic). We sang, he blew the candles and we watched street performers while we ate our delicious ice cream.

We walked to the Downtown and watched more street performers, live music in every venue and took in all the art and beauty of this Magical little surfer town. We were in love. Just being there made you forget about everything else. If you are ever thinking about where to visit next, go to this hidden gem in Nayarit, Mexico, Sayulita, Pueblo Mágico.
