A Wild Adventure: Visiting Fuengirola’s Bioparc with Kids
If you’re looking for a fun and educational family day trip on the Costa del Sol, Fuengirola’s Bioparc is a must-visit! This unique zoo is designed as an immersive experience, where visitors step into lush, naturalistic habitats that make you feel like you’ve been transported to the heart of the jungle. It’s the perfect destination for kids and parents alike, offering a mix of adventure, conservation, and learning.

What Makes Bioparc Fuengirola Special?
Unlike traditional zoos, Bioparc Fuengirola follows a ‘zoo-immersion’ concept, recreating natural habitats where animals coexist just as they would in the wild. The park is divided into different ecosystems, including Madagascar, Equatorial Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Indo-Pacific. The design ensures that animals have ample space and live in environments that closely resemble their natural habitats.
Beyond the incredible setting, Bioparc is dedicated to conservation efforts, participating in breeding programs for endangered species and raising awareness about wildlife protection.

Highlights of Our Visit
1. Walking Through the Rainforest
From the moment we stepped in, it felt like we had entered another world. Our little explorers were fascinated by the sounds of tropical birds and the sight of lemurs leaping between trees.
2. Close Encounters with Wildlife
Some of our favorite animals to spot were the Sumatran tigers, gorillas, and Komodo dragons. The kids especially loved the playful otters and the way the meerkats curiously observed us. Unlike larger zoos, Bioparc offers up-close encounters with many of its animals, making the experience even more engaging.
3. The Spectacular Baobab Tree
A major landmark in the park is the impressive baobab tree in the Madagascar zone. It’s a fantastic photo spot and a great place to take a break while the kids run around and explore.
4. The Kid-Friendly Shows and Feeding Times
Throughout the day, the park hosts interactive talks and feeding sessions.

Tips for Visiting with Kids
- Go early! The park isn’t huge, but arriving early gives you more time to enjoy the experience before it gets too crowded.
- Bring snacks and water. While there is a café inside, bringing a few kid-friendly snacks is always a good idea.
- Pack sunscreen and hats. Many areas are shaded, but the sun can still be strong, especially in the summer months.
- Take your time. The magic of Bioparc is in the details, so slow down and let the kids enjoy observing the animals at their own pace.

Why We Loved It
